Zinatel is a band which aims to create a contemporary version of Andean folklore music, mixing Latin American sounds with electronic beats. His members are part of other important bands in Chile: Luis Galdames and Cristian Marquez are active members from Illapu, Carlos Valenzuela is one of the founders of PapaNegro and Andrés Jeraldo plays with hip hop artist Zaturno.
The name Zinatel comes from the street where Cristian and Luis lived in Mexico City. In 2005 they published their first album «El Futuro Lo Sabrá», where they put their musical diversity for musicalizing poems by Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda.
After 12 years of silence, Zinatel comes back to realise song «Huifayayay» taking a Nicanor Parra‘s poem and put into the characteristic sound of the band. They also release a music video shooted in Machu Picchu, Peru and El Cajón del Maipo, Chile.
Zinatel es una banda que tiene como objetivo crear una versión contemporánea del folklore andino mezclando sonidos latinoamericanos con música electrónica. Sus integrantes forman parte de otras importantes bandas chilenas: Luis Galdames y Cristian Marquez de Illapu, Carlos Valenzuela de PapaNegro y Andrés Jeraldo de la banda del artista del hip hop Zaturno.
El nombre Zinatel proviene de la calle donde Cristian y Luis vivían en México. El 2005 publican su primer álbum «El Futuro Lo Sabrá», donde ponen su riqueza sonora en la musicalización de poemas de Gabriela Mistral y Pablo Neruda.
Después de 12 años de silencio, Zinatel regresó con la canción «Huifayayay» donde transforman en canción un poema de Nicanor Parra. La canción también fue lanzada con un videoclip filmado en Machu Picchu, Perú y El Cajón Del Maipo, Chile.
